Girl We Love: Anaelle Arreza

What do you do when you're not traveling?

I bury myself in books (I love my fiction!) and go on climbs with my friends. I enjoy being outside a lot and don't mind roughing it out with the great Mother N. I also enjoy baking every now and then when I'm at home. It's fun baking for my family because they always eat whatever I make - even the slightly burnt ones hehe.

What are your travel must-haves?

A pair of comfy sneakers and a good book! I like traveling DIY and a big part of that involves a whole lot of walking and commuting that's why I always make sure I bring my trusty Keds wherever I go. For unexpected downtimes, I turn to my book to keep myself entertained.

What do you like most about Wink?

I love how the staff never fails to send reminders and follow up messages before and after every treatment. It's all very personal :) I also like how none of the treatments are ever painful.

How does Wink help you with your travels?

Wink lets me wear whatever I want whenever I want and lets me go spontaneous beach trips without worrying about last-minute waxing!

Best trip you've ever been on?

Trips, actually. My recent trips to Iloilo and Guimaras are my best ones so far because I didn't expect to find all the beautiful beaches, lagoons, and waterfalls that I did when I went. Plus, where else can you get a whole basket of fresh scallops for just P50?!

Do you have a travel bucket list? If so what countries/places are on it?

Locally, I would love to experience Batanes. Machu Picchu, Africa, and Europe are also among the top of my list.

What do you love about traveling?

I love the DIY-ness of traveling! I'm a sucker for itineraries and like planning my trips very carefully. All the researching and plotting out of where to go and what to eat excites me. You'll be surprised just how much you'll learn about a place or a country by simply doing your itinerary.

What has been one of your favorite dishes you've eaten while traveling?

In Vietnam where I had clams, scallops with garlic and nuts, and dried squid over beers with my friends. Without a doubt best pulutan ever!

If you can be anywhere right now, where would you be and why?

I would be backpacking through Europe - just me, my friends, and my 50L backpack! It's something I've always wanted to do.

What's your go-to traveling hack/tip?

Go DIY if you can! Nothing beats researching about a place, planning out your itinerary, and going wherever you want at your own pace. You'll see and experience way more along the way.
