Experience the perfect weekend getaway with Mia—in Davao! 🌴✨ Follow her ideal itinerary, from island hopping 🏝️ to discovering the best coffee spots ☕.
Hi Mia! Can you tell us more about yourself?
Hi! I’m Mia, a 25-year-old Marketing graduate from De La Salle University-Manila. After college, I returned to my hometown, Davao City, to help with our family business.
I have a deep passion for traveling and exploring new places, which fuels my creativity and keeps me inspired. You’ll often find me in cozy cafés or charming restaurants, always with a camera in hand, ready to capture the moment. On most days when I'm not out and about, I love staying home, binge-watching my favorite K-drama series with my dogs.
We’re planning a weekend getaway to Davao City—what are the top 3 must-see spots or activities we should include in our itinerary?
ISLAND HOPPING IN SAMAL
Never miss going to Samal when you’re in Davao. There are numerous resorts situated in Samal in case you don’t want to do Island Hopping. But for Island Hopping arrangements, you can just find them on Facebook!
ROAD TRIP TO BUDA (Bukidnon-Davao)
A 2-hour drive from Davao City Proper. You can experience the cold weather and beautiful scenery along the way. There are also good cafes and restaurants in BuDa.
ROXAS NIGHT MARKET
If you’ve been to the night market in Bangkok, this place is kind of similar to that! Roxas night market is a long alley of street food vendors and thrifted apparel that only opens at night!
Our Davao trip is not complete without some 🍽️ ☕ 🍹 🛌🏽. Tell us:
Where can we find the best coffee in town:
ONE CORNER Coffee (@onecornerph)
Their drinks are made from manual brewing instead of a coffee machine! They also have a variety of drinks to choose from plus their food is also good. (recos: dark passion, summertime love, nachos & coconut cheesecake.)
ANDMATCHA CAFE (@andmatchacafeph)
If you’re into good quality matcha!! Always my go-to for matcha drinks.
Must visit restaurant:
MISA Dining and Listening Room (@misa_dining)
They serve Japanese cuisine with a twist and their raw dishes do not disappoint. You can also listen to their array collection of vinyl records while you dine. (recos: Potato Terrine, Bone Marrow & Triple Mushroom Ravioli)
Best place to get cocktails for happy hour:
TASTE OF HOME (@tasteofhomedvo // @gaydrinkingwith carlos)
They serve unique and flavourful cocktails that you surely can’t miss when visiting Davao! They even have a cocktail that has tabasco and tajin! (My fave)
Where to stay:
Staying in the heart of the city is the way to experience the city’s best!
SEDA (located in the middle of the city, beside Abreeza Ayala Mall)
Avida Airbnb (if you’re on a budget, Airbnbs are your go-to! It’s safe and convenient).
Acacia Hotel (located near SM Lanang, convenient if you want to go to SM, The place gets super traffic during rush hours).
Share your 3 Davao-weekend-getaway essentials
• Bring a camera along with your cute outfit! Especially when going to cute cafes and restaurants!
• Water bottle to keep you hydrated wherever you go.
• Pamper yourself before going on a trip! In my case, I make sure that I book my lashes appointment and Underarm laser treatment beforehand to make me feel more confident.
