Girl We Love: Lea Valenzuela
Fun fact about you
I love the ocean but I don’t really know how to swim. I got myself into a traumatic experience as a kid where I nearly drowned that’s why I never attempted to learn it again. Although, I feel like somehow I'm slowly overcoming my fear of the water as I also try activities like scuba diving and snorkeling. (As long as there are life vests, I’m game!) Maybe I should try learning it again soon? Haha!
What do you like most about traveling?
It is my passion for photography that actually fuels my desire to travel. And my love for both have changed the way I see the world - teaching me to be fully present, noticing the details, and appreciating the beauty of the mundane (whether or not I have my camera with me.) Traveling not only reminds me of how beautiful our world is, it also challenges me to live in gratitude and make more conscious choices to preserve this gift.
What do you do when you're not traveling?
I used to have a full time job as an art director. And recently, as I start to pursue a career as a professional photographer, I do a lot of research, shooting and collaborating with different brands and creative individuals for both work and my personal projects.
Any surprising things you bring with you when you travel?
As Tita this may sound, I can’t travel without my Poy-Sian - or any analgesic balm or oil for that matter. It’s a life-saver!
What's the last trip you took?
I recently went camping in Tanay, Rizal. I’ve always loved hiking but it’s the first time in a long while I got to camp overnight again. It was such a lovely experience to just slow down and unwind. You not only get to enjoy both the sunset and the sunrise, you also get to go stargazing and witness a majestic sea of clouds if you’re lucky - without even having to go far as Mt. Pulag.
Favorite hotel/accommodation you've stayed at
I'm not that picky with accommodation since I'm mostly out during the day.
What's the one place you keep going back to:
I always find myself going back to Taiwan. I love the outdoors and since the country is abundantly endowed with mountains and coastal sceneries, I’m pretty sure nature-lovers will love it there too. It’s lovely landscape, for me, is definitely it's best selling point. I’ve been there for 3 times already and there’s just still more to see.
Top 3 places on your must-visit list:
I would love to visit New Zealand, Turkey and India someday.
What do you like most about Wink?
Aside from the fact that the brand matches my life’s ✨ aesthetic ✨, I love Wink because of the great overall customer experience it provides - from accommodating requests and inquiries, to actual treatment procedure, to post-session care.
How does Wink help you with your travels?
With Wink, I am always travel-ready. I am able to just have fun and make the most out of my travels because I don’t have to worry about having unwanted hair anymore.
