Take a journey through Maitaโs stories as a design student, artist, and dancer, and let her inspire you to create new experiences for yourself. ๐
CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF?
Hi! Iโm Maita โ a design student slash artist slash dancer.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Japan is first on my list when travel becomes safe again! A lot of my projects are inspired by Japanese concepts, theoretical ideas, and principles. (Not to mention my love for Japanese food as well haha!)
How have you been staying busy and positive during these times?
Online school has been keeping me really busy. I had to, in a way, relearn design from a digital perspective. I spent the past 8 months exploring 3D software and digital design. Working alone, I also manage my online vintage store, The Library. Meeting and working with other creatives, even if it's just through a digital screen, has kept me positive and inspired during these times.
What are some activities you like to do? Can you share with us your New Normal Adventures?
Earlier this month, I did a photoshoot for The Libraryโs holiday campaign. Iโve always been a very visual person but I do feel that I still have a lot to learn about photography so every shoot is a learning adventure for me. I prefer to shoot with film โ particularly 35mm or polaroids because of how exciting and challenging it is.
What's been your most memorable adventure? Share one of your happy places!
If you could go back to anywhere, where would you go and what would you do?
I spent last summer in a tiny hilltop village called Settignano in the northeast of Florence, Italy. It was a quiet place with history, artistic significance, and unbelievable views. We spent our days swimming in our villaโs inflatable pool, sipping on canned Peronis, and playing catch. It was also my first time traveling with my college friends so it was quite an adventure!
We canโt wait to get you ready for your NEXT adventures! What are you most looking forward to on your next Wink visit?
Iโve been going to Wink for about 4 years now and I'm really looking forward to going back! It's sort of like a self-care ritual for me. โก
